Finally got around to finishing this shirt that I upcycled from the thrift store. Now, my only concern is whether or not I should trim the tassels to be only a couple inches or if I should leave them long and dramatic?? View high resolution

Project 3: complete!

4 shirts -> 1 infinity scarf

Step one: cut the top part of each shirt off. For shirt selection, try to find variation in patterns and textures but stick to a logical color scheme.

Step 2: simply sew each shirt body end to end. Use more shirts to make a longer scarf and vice versa.

Lately I’ve been addicted to doing this, plus I’m trying to clean out some old clothes. It’s a really easy project if you have basic sewing machine skills. It takes no time, and you can really play around with it. I even made one of these puppies with a pair of plaid flannel pj pants! View high resolution

When you haven’t a yarn bowl, a tea pot will do in a pinch!

I LOVE this idea so much, especially since I am always having trouble keeping my cats away when knitting. What a clever solution!

I am in LOVE with this shelf made from a halved and stacked end table. Click through for the tutorial for this perfect and chic way to organize and display your things. It’s the best of both book shelf and accent table! I wish I could try it, but with college on the horizon it just doesn’t make much sense. I’ll have to try it once I have my own place, and I hope you give it a go yourselves :) View high resolution

Finished!!! They look so great :)
To get the cloudy look of the blue one, which was kind of an accident but it worked, put your wetted fabric in a shallow pan loosely scrunched up and pour dye over it until it is submerged. I am so excited for these to finish drying so I can make them into comfy tanks! View high resolution

I babysat tonight and decided it would be fun to make blue glue shirts with my buddy Zane! He did batman and I did spiderman. His is going to be black and blue (as per his orders) and I think mine will be black or red.

100 Ways to Transform a T-shirt: (19)

Ok so I used this little trick to make a quick heart on the back of a racerback. I have been thinking hard about how I could possibly make a heartback design, which I find very whimsical, so this kind of does the trick. I haven’t completed my search yet, this is just something I came up with using what I had. (I really need to make a thrift store run soon!)

Anywho, all you have to do is fold the area where you want the heart in half, cut little holes about half a centimeter in, and cut a half heart without detaching the rib inside. then cut along the rib so it leaves just a string. I also cut a small triangle out at the bottom to create a point.

It isn’t the complete cut-out I love so much, but I do find it rather cute. I also think there is potential for slight changes that would make this look perfect. I do love it though, and it only took two seconds!
